Welcome to Le Bon Vivant! I’m Rachi, a self-confessed bon vivant, living and loving my life here in Canberra, Australia. I’m also an optometrist, a food photographer, an avid traveller and a social media addict.
My love for good food and fine dining began ten years ago. I was that 21 year old who blew her first real pay check on a ten course wine matched degustation dinner for two (Marque, Surry Hills). And I’ve never looked back since.
From ticking things off my dining wish list (Tetsuya, Heston Blumenthal) to discovering the unbridled joy of amazing food locally or on my travels, food brings happiness to my life in a way that’s difficult to put into words. I believe that eating bad food is a crime so I am that neurotic person who researches her every meal to the last detail and never leave anything to chance. But strangely, I never feel the urge to try to produce any culinary delights in my own kitchen. I firmly believe somethings are best left in the hands of experts and I will happily pay good money on an all too regular basis for such luxuries. Bon vivant? Yes. Spoiled princess? Debatable.
In this blog you will read all about my culinary adventures, my travel stories which tend to revolve largely around food and about my life in Canberra and my mission to prove the Nation’s Capital’s full potential. This is my lifestyle blog and I hope you stick around!
